Replace the cause of repeated failures

A replacement assessment begins with the damaged component and its operating conditions. An elbow that fits the flange can still be unsuitable for the material or conveying duty.

Send a photograph of the installed elbow, close-ups of wear, a dimensioned drawing and the approximate service life. Include the pipe immediately before and after the bend where possible.

Your replacement record

Record material, throughput, hours or tonnes to failure, bore, connections, angle, orientation, available space and shutdown constraints. State whether the failure is erosion, cracking, leakage, blockage or product damage.
