Compare pneumatic conveying bend technologies

Some bends change the path of the particles. Others add a harder wear surface, a replaceable section or a controlled internal texture. Select the approach that addresses your material and process requirements.

Flow-path designs

Sweeps provide a curved passage. Compact deflection and vortex designs use a specifically shaped internal region. Segmental pellet deflectors interrupt prolonged sliding. Their effects on pressure loss, particle stress and retained material need separate consideration.

Wear-protection designs

Ceramic-lined, basalt-lined and hardened metal bends protect the product-contact surface. Reinforced and replaceable-back designs add protection around the expected wear region.

Surface treatments

Shot-peened and grooved surfaces are used in some plastic pellet systems to control wall contact and streamer formation. A rougher surface is not automatically better for every material.
