Conveying Bends for Chemicals and Pigments
Review the complete chemicals & pigments content below. All specifications and product claims remain subject to approval before publication.
Corrosion and Chemical Compatibility
Chemical and pigment lines require a material-by-material review. Carrier gas, trace moisture, operating temperature and cleaning chemistry may influence compatibility as much as the main powder. A stainless steel designation is a starting point, not a substitute for evaluating the actual chemical exposure.
Purity and Material Retention
Where product contamination is important, define allowable foreign material and retained residue. Abrasion-resistant ceramic or hardfaced layers may behave differently from the underlying metal in contact with chemicals. Cracks, open joints or trapped product can also affect quality.
Contact Materials and Liners
Candidate constructions include carbon steel where the chemistry permits it, AISI 304 or AISI 316, and approved wear-resistant lining systems. If a product requires specific documentation, identify it early so lining, adhesives, gaskets and surface finishes can be reviewed together.
Operating Conditions and Cleaning
Record the normal and maximum temperature, pressure/vacuum, batch sequence, solvent or water exposure, and the actual required clean condition. Pocket elbows can retain material in their chamber; segmented construction or liners can have joints requiring validation. For reactive or hazardous powders, any special engineering or safety requirements must be established for the complete system.
Design and Selection Data
Supply the material name and relevant safety information, particle distribution, throughput, gas conditions, corrosion concerns, required contact materials and flange or pipe-end standards. If the installation handles multiple grades, include changeover information.
Request an Application Review
PneuBend can assist with selecting candidate configurations and identifying missing specifications. No page should be taken as an approval for a hazardous atmosphere, regulated contact duty or specific chemical environment without documented engineering assessment. Materials guide · Start enquiry.
